Los Angeles
In June, I got the opportunity to travel to Los Angeles for the 21st Del Close Marathon with my improv troupe. It was my third time attending the festival but my first time on the west coast so, naturally, I put on my tourist hat and filmed everything in sight.
I loved this trip partially because it gave me the opportunity to film for fun for the first time since I began creating videos professionally—rather than focusing on getting the shot just right, or the more technical aspects of the process (like lens cleanliness, oops!), I instead got to focus on capturing the moment with my friends, in all its imperfect glory.

This video of a 2016 trip to Kiawah Island was my first time shooting solo, my first time experimenting with overcranking, and my first attempt at cutting to music.
I particularly love this video because it shows how far I’ve come since then, as well as that slow-motion shot of Jake’s bellyflop.
